Hope, Healing, and Growth in Barcelona

Something is happening in a church in Barcelona—something gentle, hopeful, and hard to ignore. Andy and Andrea Warner have been watching how quiet healing, honest searching, and unexpected growth are transforming people's lives.

In Spanish terms, our church, La Vinya Barcelona, is big! On a typical Sunday morning we’re about 400 people, mainly native Spanish (or Catalan!), with a few internationals like us. For several years we’ve been functioning primarily as a ‘hospital’ church, caring for many—mainly believers—who have arrived at our doorstep, and watching the Holy Spirit bring transformation and healing to broken lives.

Alongside our Sunday meetings we have about 30 home groups scattered across the wider Barcelona area where people meet, eat, and get to know Jesus and His Family more. We also run a wide variety of ministries, such as a clothes and shower service for people in vulnerable conditions, a homework club for children at risk of social exclusion, and a street evangelism team that shares Jesus and invites people to experience Him and His Kingdom in real and relevant ways.

With awe and excitement at what we’re seeing Jesus do among us, our church is preparing to transition into a multi-site church—one church with two sites. In 2026 we plan to open the second site in a town called Sant Feliu, sharing resources with the current site while creating space for newcomers, opportunities for new leadership, and a localised expression of the church.

Our senior pastor openly recognises that the church in Spain struggles to connect with native Spaniards. But, as we believe is happening in other places around the world, the younger generation in particular is looking for meaning and identity, and we are excited to equip younger people, including many raised here in Catalunya.
